This paper illustrates various activities, where identification of risk is a primary task before its actual occurrence whereas proper plan can be done and executed to handle the risk during project period and complete the project successfully. The study has been done to find out the common risk, during project. The study was based on data, having experiences of 5 to 20 years from various fields contributing in different project phases. During survey it was found that 72% of respondents think that the budget and resource provided for project are probably sufficient, with margin. It may not be 100% realistic but can be managed with some addition efforts. Budget is complete financial estimation of the cost required for each and every task to achieve the goal or success of the project over project life cycle. 60% of respondents believe that timeline provided by the institute for the project is not enough to compete the scheduling and planning of the project. According to 80% respondents some of equipment/parts having lead time high and may cause delay. 58% of the respondents think that if the project team locations are multiple it leads to issues related to communication. 64% people think that within their organisation lesson learnt from past experience and identification of risk defines process availability. Risk Analysis can become a tool during planning phase. Identification of risk and understanding the impact is an important activity. It will help to plan judiciously and manage the risk so that it can be minimised and success of project can be achieved. The value at risk measures the potential loss in value due to risk at project phase. Risk can lead to extra cost, time, equipment's and failure of the project. Risk assessment has great role to play while in planning at various project phase. With the help of the outcome of the study, the plan for risk reduction can be done in advance. Keywords

The topic of the study was "Breaking the Myth: That Human Resource Is a Woman Centric Function". In a country like India where gender perceptions are fast changing, the objective of this study was to gather data in order to break the myth that Human Resource Management is a woman centric function and to show that it has now evolved as a function where men and women are at par. The topic was selected because Human Resource Management department is known to be the heart of an organization as it plays a key role in its establishment by recognizing the contribution of the employees towards building up the business. But there seems to be a widespread perception that human resource is a female oriented function since the qualities of an efficient human resource manager are considered to be feminine in nature. Due to this perception many a times men are discouraged from joining this field even if they are interested in it. To carry out the study, various means have been used which primarily include a detailed questionnaire to understand the opinions people possess about the human resource function. For the same 100 respondents were interviewed, 50 being working professionals and 50 being students perusing an MBA. The resultant findings state that Professionals and Students of the opinion that HR is not a women centric function and has equal opportunities for career development for both the genders. Both set of respondents feel that qualities required as an HR Professional are generic in nature and not specific to women as a group. The respondents also feel that there is a wide scope of career development in this field for both the genders. Keywords

Among the 30 largest emerging markets, India is the third most attractive retail market for global retailers, according to US consulting group AT Kearney's report published in June, 2010. With the robust economic growth, high disposable income in middle and upper class consumer, India has great potential in its tier-II and tier-III cities as well. The greater availability of personal credit and a growing vehicle population providing improved mobility also contribute to a trend towards annual retail sales growth. The organized retail market is growing at 35 percent annually while growth of unorganized retail sector is pegged at 6 percent. Though the retailing sector is growing rapidly, some of the constraints faced by the sector are restricting its growth. Apart from the regulations and approval for Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs), the sector strongly lacks effective human resource practices. This study is aimed at studying the various problems and challenges ahead for HR managers in the implementation of HRM practices in selected organized retail outlets. This paper seeks to address the HR challenges and skill requirements in the organised retail sector. Problems of lack of trained work force, low skill level for retailing management, lack of development programmes to the existing human resources and problems in retaining qualitative manpower are some of the obstacles creating huge challenges to the Indian retail sector. It was found that to overcome some of the challenges faced by retail, the companies are investing heavily in training and recruitment of qualitative work force.- Implementation of Human Resource Management System in Tourism Sector

The main aim of this project was to know how the HRMS functions in an organisation and tourism sector was selected for conducting the study. The first objective was the implementation of the Phase I of the Human Resource Management System. The Phase I included completing the personal as well as professional records, employment details within the organization, editing and managing changes in the employment of the employee (career history) like promotion and salary increment, exit handling and report generation of all the employees in the organisation. The next step was designing the modulus for the same which would be tailor made to the processes in the organisation and the HR department. The main aim while designing the module was that the software should be capable of capturing all the details which would be entered related to the employee of the organisation and generating the report as well. The HRMS should be capable of generating simple reports which could be easily used by the HR Department. The vendor was chosen for the same and they were required to customise the software on their own. The strategy used for the implementation was that all the details of all the employees should be updated in the excel sheet so that it can be easily integrated in the software once the software is ready. Separate Excel sheets were required to be made for the existing employees as well as exit employees. The task was duly completed. Keywords

Innovation and entrepreneurship are critical drivers of social and economic development. In diflHcult economic times small businesses face enormous challenges in running their businesses, even if they are based on good business ideas. With increase in awareness around the world, especially in developing economies, about the need to promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship, policymakers and other stakeholders are increasingly viewing business incubation as an important tool to imleash human ingenuity, enable competitive enterprises and create sustainable jobs. This has resulted in the growth of Busmess Incubators which support new ventures, help overcome the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and establish an ecosystem for the venture initiation process so that start-ups are successful. Many start-ups face trading difficulties since their inception and entrepreneurs who take risks to begin businesses in this climate need advice and support from all possible quarters if they are to survive. For entrepreneurs, managing money is critical in the first months of trading; expensive premises and long term leases can lead the businesses into trouble. Entrepreneurs working from home and through small offices inside houses are continuously disturbed by children and family members although the visiting customers expect a business environment. Providing space, electricity and basic amenities required by entrepreneurs initially is not enough, they also require incubation managers to be prepared and equipped in all fiinctional areas of the business incubation process. Making incubations successful requires incubation managers to understand the commonalities among the business incubators. The present study focuses on the reasons of satisfaction of the incubatees' over various facilities provided at the incubation centres and the involvement of incubation managers. The researcher used questionnaires for incubatees which included close/open ended, multiple choice, nominal and ordinal questions. Mentoring and assistance in obtaining finance were the two fiictors found to be most important in creation o f successful ventures. Keywords

India has witnessed a change in digitalization in the last decade and this has given a rise to fresh business opportunities by evolving business models. The purpose of this research is to understand how E-Commerce as a sector boomed and brought a change in the preferences of the consumer thus touching each of their lives. E-Commerce has lived up to expectations by not only providing quality service but through various other deals and offers sufficient to attract consumers. Consumer behaviour changes from time to time and E-Commerce fulfilled the necessities. The study was conducted by collection of secondary data from various sources and with the help of a questionnaire circulated among 56 respondents across India. The study encompasses the views and preferences of consumers which covered respondents belonging to different parts of India with all background and age grouped into various professions and income groups. The findings revealed that E-Commerce in the last five years has grown by a significant margin and technology has assisted in its growth. Consumer behaviour changed as consumers started purchasing from ecommerce websites rather than visiting traditional retail stores primarily due to convenience caused by home delivery service. Quality is another factor which is to be considered. The E-Commerce is also expected to further grow in the future generating employment and contributing to India‟s GDP.Keywords

Henrich, father of Industrial Accident Prevention, studied 75,000 cases of insurance claims and accident records of industrial plant owners. He found that 88% of accidents were caused due to unsafe actions of human beings. The objective of the present study was to analyze the reasons for accidents related to unsafe behavior of personnel. It further aimed to develop and recommend a workable model to the engineering industry to reduce accidents caused due to unsafe human behavior. Data were collected on accidents and their causes from 5 mechanical engineering companies selected in and around Pune region of India. Only those companies which had more than 100 employees working for it were selected. Only accidents of high potential and those resulting into man-days lost were selected from the list of accidents. A total of 17 accident cases were selected. A personal interview cum questionnaire method was used to collect data from the workers who met with the accident, line supervisors, safety officers and factory managers of the concerned factory. Results showed that in most accidents, working conditions were proper, the design and equipments were safe to work with and it was possible to operate the equipments safely. Hence this weakened the fact that accidents are mainly caused by unsafe conditions. In most accidents, unsafe actions had played a major role. ―Hurry up attitude‖ encouraged the worker to take shortcuts and bypass safety procedures. Majority of workers who met with the accident had no disease/stress and were of average physical fitness levels. Their unsafe behavior was due to there being a lacuna on the part of the management in imparting ―On the job training‖ for performing the job safely, which would have given more information about the hazards present in the job and the risks, their levels along with the safe way of performing the job. This training would have played a vital role in accident prevention and forced the worker to think and act on the safe line of action. Based on the above research, an Accident Reduction Model was developed. This model focuses mainly on identifying and correcting the unsafe behavior of workers. The model will help in dealing with these requirements in a systematic Plan-Do-Check-Act manner; hence, users will find it as a very useful tool to comply with related requirements. Keywords
